My Journey to Miri via Brunei

I am in Miri now, visiting. Sophia and I came via Brunei on Thursday, 27th Mac. That day was Nellie, my sister's birthday. We did not manage to celebrate with her, so, i guess the gift has to come a lil bigger juz to show my apologies. kaka.. maybe not.. still havent get sumthing from her in Miri.. i think in KK by hook or by crook..so, here i want to say to my dear sister.. HAPPY BLESSED BIRTHDAY TO YOU.. May God be your guide and provider all the days of your life. Amen.

Let's talk about the trip now.. haha.. the trip was kinda pleasant. Thank God for good weather, and both of us were not having any problem on sea sick. But i was rather in awe when i found out besides a handful of chinese and some foreigners, most of the passengers were the Philippinos or the Philippinas or the Indonesians. Most of them were on day trip, that was one of the thing they were required to do, every two weeks, to get their passport stamped before they got their working pass from their employees. amazed.

Once we reached Brunei, the custom police looked at Sophia and I and asked Sophia so many questions, whether she and i are twins? sisters? whether she married? her vocation? adui.. so funny... frankly until today.. i still wonder how 'look like' she and i really is, until so many people asking the same question.

Nick and Sharon drove all the way from Miri (about 2 hours drive) to pick us up. is really blessed to have them indeed. we went down straight to the Mall, in Gadong, went around the shopping mall, nothing much to buy when your mind has set on the conversion rate of RM2.31 to BRU$1.00. But with the introduction of Fiona, we decided to go for a Japanese lunch. 'Excapade Sushi'!!! i tell you... the sushi there is absolute FUYOH!! I was pretty impressed and felt really blessed, enjoying the lunch with great fellowship. You may said, wah, conversion rate leh.. i tell you, is nice and worth the money. four of us eating we only paid about BRU$46.00, no service tax summore, the portion was big and DELICIOUS.. tat's the most important one.. wakaka.. so, worth lar.. we really enjoyed the very bit of it.

We spent about 5-6 hours in Brunei, bought some keropok, energy drink with nice bottles, indo mee for the guys in miri and nothing else.. ok ler... all in all.. i only spent about BRU$60 nia.. oh ya.. we bought some pirated DVD lar.. wakaka.. illegal tu..BRU$2.00 each nia..see u excited or not ler.. wakaka

We reached Miri around 7.45pm, met the guys at a place called Siammese. Name is Siammese, but the food, international.. haha. so, apparently they said their western is better than their names. so, i tried the Siammese Special Pasta. Interesting, a bit spicy. but overall it was a good one, and with great company as well. After that, we had a series of food days. interesting ones, normal ones, but all with great companies.

Friday night, Cell Group. Wow, it was a great crowd, all in all was about 24 of us in this tiny little house. i shared God's word with them, we had a great time. They also took the Opportunity to celebrate those birthdays fall between Nov 2007 to Mac 2008. haha. Interesting group. and greater things to be done. Soon, they going to have a worship service of their own, raise their own money and done greater things for God. Soon, the group will multiply, to thirty folds, sixty folds and hundred folds. for in Acts 2:47 said, 'the Lord added to their numbers as they meet daily'. and i strongly believed that is the challenge God has given to this minitry. Saturday, shopping.. and Ah Long Ltd oh..FUYOH!! nice also lar.. so funny, but a bit distracted by the smoothness of the filming, summore, some 'girls' were smoking inside the cinema.. right in front of us..wah.. cannot tahan.. but have to keep quiet. i really hope that the management can do someting about it. is really RUDE of them.

Sunday is today, is church day, Miri Gospel Chapel, Senadin, all i can say is INTERESTING.. really..maybe the church is small, the people are new. but the heart of serving is there. and i really admire of their courage. After that, nasi lemak lunch.. hot & spicy..but great. and then few of us went down to get a few more stuffs, I BOUGHT A CASIO WATCH.. wuwuhhu.. so happy.. Further we went down town to get some vege & chicken. is Home Cook Dinner. FUYOH!! We had a great time..10 in total came for dinner, we had great food and great fellowship and now i am stealing time by updating the blog using Felicia's laptop.. hehe.. so nice of her..

tomorrow Sophia and i are leaving for KK...Breakfast at 6am, proceed with airport by 7am.first thing going to happen in KK is, breakfast at 家乡牛肉面, beef noodle at Hilltop. then going to cut hair..cut cut hair.. yeayea..then proceed to Wisma Anglican.. attending Youth Pastor Meeting tomorrow night.

ok.. i'm leaving..come back after my KK trip.chao... will try to come back with some pictures as well.. have to dig from others..stay tune.

oh Lord.. i need a camera phone.. i need one LOrd.. 阿们!

To God be the Glory

This is what I’m talking about.. I have been sitting there wondering what to share in the blog.. and day by day.. the days passed.. and I am still here.. WONDERING… sigh!!

I have always wanted to own a blog.. a place that I can share about the lessons I learned.. the love I received.. or maybe the challenges that I faced. But…my delay is all because of one word.. COMMITMENT… I worry about not having time to write, hence delaying my updates. So, my friends, have patience on me, give me sometimes to get use to this.. I will, hopefully, update you from time to time.. Discipline & Time management is all I need for now…hehe

Why don’t I just start with today.. that will make my life easier I guess… sharing with you what I’ve read this morning..

“He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well."
While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message. The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on the Gentiles. For they heard them speaking in tongues and praising God.”
Then Peter said, "Can anyone keep these people from being baptized with water? They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have."

This is how God moves. Reading this, I was reminded that night during the Overcomers Youth Alpha Camp where I shared about ‘How do I fill with the Holy Spirit?’. that whole day, I was in total dependant for God to move in His own way. It wasn’t a pleasant day as we would expect. Something happened during the noon break, it was an unhappy experience to some, well.. at least for me, I was caught in surprise and didn’t know how to handle it.. but the spirit of rebellious was all over and the enemy was really up to something.

That evening, the Lord impressed upon my heart that ‘RECONCILIATION’ is needed, I knew it, and knowing that not until they understand the whole situation, they will only do that. Obediently, I started the session requesting them to reconcile with one another before we ever bring our offerings to God. (Matthew 5: 23-26). It was not as we expected, the one we expect them to reconcile, did not do it.. but rather, one guy walked in obedient, reconciling with his friends. That was really a breakthrough. Though few leaders and I were kinda disappointed, but again, I would say, and I told this to the leaders, it takes total obedience to act upon God’s Word. I believed, God moved, only that.. if you don’t response, you will never get what He has for you.

It was also that night our dear friends the lost their father & friend. We asked many questions, but it was not answered. We were there standing strong for our dear friends. For that moment onwards, the Lord has filled each of our hearts with His love. Our love for one another grew. Even though the camp has ended for almost two weeks now, the love they have especially among the brothers encouraged me greatly, for that I am thankful.

Few days ago, during my morning devotion, the Lord reminded me that our battle is not against flesh & blood (human) but rather the rulers of darkness. In other words, fight against the sin, not against the sinner. Often at times, we do not deal with the situations, but rather disappoint with human behavior. I shared this with the group of leaders last night, and really seek God’s forgiveness upon our misjudgment. Perhaps we need to see it in a broader view. May the Lord have mercy on us.

For this camp, even though the Lord did not move as what our human minds want, even there were unhappy and disappointing experiences, I strongly believed, the Lord has taken out something that is negative, and filled it with Himself and His love. ALL GLORY TO GOD!!

p/s Should I present to you .. a picture of the recent Overcomer Youth Alpha Camp.
